Open to all first-time buyers; the Scottish Government shared equity scheme was set-up to provide up to £25,000 to help buyers purchase both new build and existing properties.
Kate Forbes, Scotland's Finance Secretary, announced in July that the Scottish Government would invest a further £50 million into the fund, and the scheme will provide loans to help at least 6,000 first time buyers to get on the property ladder in Scotland.
Senior Mortgage Adviser Ian Angus-Felton, added, "This is a great scheme and a real boost for many Scottish first-time buyers. Buyers must contribute a minimum deposit of 5% of the purchase price and require a minimum mortgage of 25% of the purchase price.; however, Greenshoots will take care of all the paperwork alongside the mortgage application."
He continued: "We are reassured the Scottish Government recommended individuals seek independent mortgage advice. Our clients all have unique circumstances, and not all schemes are right for everyone or their circumstances. Which is why we work closely with each person to establish their life-long needs and work across the entire mortgage and insurance market."
